Surely the smaller WRX clutch would not fit against the larger STi (WR1) flywheel ??

Ask Alyn above for a WR1 clutch and flywheel, he will give you a few choices with pro's and cons of each but will not try and sell you the most expensive. The other alternative is to get a replacement 5 speed clutch / flywheel with a higher rating to hang off the back of your gearbox but would'nt be any cheaper ..

i have heard you can put a 5 speed clutch on a 6 speed box but it's not worth it as it doesn't last long. might aswell get a nice 6 speed clutch that will last you.

You can use a 5 speed clutch in a 6 speed box. You just need the whole assembly i.e clutch, flywheel and starter.
