Great, something that makes a stupid noise and makes your car run worse!

Just stick the original back on there ans save the cash.

Mine had a dump valve when I bought it, couldnt wait to get it off. Took me a couple of weeks to source a re-circ valve, the difference was amazing, better idle, smoother throttle response and quicker spool up!

Impreza's don't like vent to atmoshere dump valves, and neither do most netters!!

Correction - Vent to Atmosphere dumpvalves.
Recirulating ones are fine!

sorry to hijack the thread, but what about dual port BOV's that vent some of the air back into the induction systems? any good? or ar ethey just as bad as the dump to atmosphere type?

If it makes any noise what so ever you will be branded a chav and have to move to the gangsta section

Frankly I like the chirp noise - although I think the grown up term for it is compressor surge.

Where the dumped air has no where to go so go back over the turbo blades making the cutting/chirping noise.

Cheapest option would be an induction kit and just blank off the dump valve altogether.

My MY00 RA had a K&N filter (not wise but it was on it when I bought it) and I had a forge re-circ dump valve that was set with springs to open when my foot was planted and lots of pressure. When the pressure wasn't enough to open the valve it went back over turbo blades and made the chirp noise.

I like the chirp (I secretly like the dump noise too but then chavvy looking girls turn me on so what can I say?)

not all turbos will survive blanking off the DV though.
the reason i mentioned the dualport BOV's was that on low boost it will recirc and you would only get the atmospheric dump when your realy going for it, and thats probably when the turbo would benefit from a dump anyway
