So ive noticed my airbag light has come on, iv not done anything with the car recently other than put morettes in so i know its nothing ive done lol, iv just used the search and theres a thread saying "wiggle the wire under the seat" common problem apparently? Well the only wire i can see is a yellow one thats not connected to anything? i checked the passenger and thats got one also not connected, is this the airbag light/sensor wire or something else? and also if it is something else wheres the right one as thats the only one i can see

ditto above, seems likely that fix was for cars with airbag seats, which I didn't think bugs had as standard
Other than that, a loose connector in the steering wheel will trigger the light, and probably any damage to the rest of the yellow wiring. Since the main airbag trigger sensor is located just to the front of the wheel arch somewhere, maybe that got knocked when your lights were fitted.
Before touching any of it though, disconnect earth and positive battery leads, and then leave everything a good half hour to be sure.

Wires with Yellow plastic sheathing and yellow connectors are part of the airbags system. The one under seat should go to the seatbelt buckle, as its for the explosive pretentioner.
Re-Morettes; did you remove the bumper or drill any holes? There are impact sensors behind the front bumper (yellow wires, yellow connectors etc).

Tell a lie, I don't think there is a pretensioner on a bugeye. Odd as the workshop manual mentions it but doesn't show it in any diagrams, but it does show side impact airbags in the seats.
