What a fanstastic month, Forrest, Paint and Wheels
What a fantastic month I have had.
Met up with Andy Forrest in port seton to talk about my classic STI Version 4 and what options I had for tuning. Absolutely top bloke.
Cant afford to go down that round yet, but he talked me through the options.
He had a mortoya ?? kit car sitting outside his yard, kicking out about 450 bhp, that his customer was intending to race at nurenbourg. What a bit of kit.
Then, I spent some time going around bodyshops looking to get a front wing sorted as it had a serious rust bubble kicking through the paint (winter killed it). I was just about to give up the ghost, most of them were ********. So by this time was feeling pretty down trodden.
Eventually, ended up back in cockenzie about a mile away from Andy Forrests place at Peters (pedsti on this forum) bodyshop called Prestige Car Bodies.
After some poking around my car, he suggested some preventative measures on the rear arches and sorted me out a nice new front wing.
Dropped it off Yesterday 8am, It was painted, baked, polished and shined for me by close of play today. He wasnt the cheapest that I found, but when he showed me his own two scoobies sitting in his workshop, I was sold. His workshop was clean, tidy and what an amazing job! He also popped on a pair of crystal indicators that he had lying around ( I already had crystal headlights, so well chuffed)
I dont think that in hindsight, I will ever use a different body shop. Going to go back in the summer to get some roof stone chips that I need fixed when the funds allow. Totally impressed and he was a nice bloke, turns out I already knew his apprentice Jamie.
Then, good things coming in three's bought a nice set of 18" rota gra's on ebay with new toyo's on them for not much more that the price of new tyres. So its been a right good month. Cant wait for them to arrive.
I am now totally skint mind you and the piggy back is empty, but it was SO worth it. My missus would have an almight fit if she new.
Will post some pictures up at the weekend.
