Default Droning noise???

Hi All,

After some help/advice!
I have noticed a droning noise which is getting worse, at the front of the car when braking from 40 mph approx down to stop (I can also feel a vibration in the brake pedal sometimes). I know it is a very vague question to ask but does anyone have any ideas what it could be? My thought was a wheel bearing but the noise is only apparent when braking would this be the case?

Many Thanks
Jenks

Do you have grooved discs? Mine do that, slightly.

Or maybe you have some deposits on the discs, clean them off with a couple of "brisk" braking runs.

it just sounds like text book wheel bearings to me.
Droning noise. Worse when weight is on front of car.
= Check for play in front wheels.

Might sound daft but check tightness on the wheel nuts......I had similar noises on a car a few years back and it turned out the garage that changed the tyre hadn't bothered to tighten the wheel properly! Just a thought

Jacked the car up today and it didnt seem right, when jacking the car up it seemed to keep on getting higher but the wheel was still touching the floor - may just be being paranoid but I do not recall ever having to jack the car that high before the wheel left the floor (had to do it quite alot lately for different things). See photo below-
