Hub nut

Default Hub nut

Ealier last year my hubnut came slack got it tightend back up and toruqed to the correct nm. This weekend it again came loose. Any ideas to what could be causing it? thanks

hi either the wheel bearings badly worn,the thread on the cv joint is worn or the nut is worn,
i would start off with jacking it up and checking for play and ordering a new nut mate

As above more than likely the nylock nut is worn or has overheated and the nylons melted,

What ever happened to the castlenut and split pin lol

Did you knock the nut tab over with a punch?
If you didnt it will come lose again, a very common problem.

Cheers guys will get it looked at. yeah it was knocked ovedr once it was tightend

Many are these days.cant say for shaw on a scooby, been a while since mine were off.

thought not and i have never seen one used for hub to honest, i cant see the nylon being reliable with the heat.

There definatly being used. did a clio last week with nylock hub nuts on the front
