think ive found my 2011 bargin
ive been after my coverting my gx bugeye sti replica to turbo for a while after some posting on SN i found it not only difficult but not cost effective to say the least ( thanks tony burns cheers pal) anyway to cut a long story short i decided to sell up
I searched ebay with what cash i pulled back from the gx and bought a 1999 v reg in royal silver with 10 month ticket and 4 month tax with good straight panels and some performance goodies decat pipe full prodrive exhaust and speedline wheels, the car was been sold as spares or repairs due to a misfire and suspected rear diff issues ( the owner said he felt like he was been held back). I clicked buy it now ( ill tell you how much shortly) and when to view the car friday apart from some some scabbing on the rear arches and the wing mirror had been rattle canned to the same colour as the car bodywork wise i was happy enough after takig it for a drive the misfire was bearly noticable at all and there was definatley nothing wrong with the diff it turned out the groved discs on the front the front n/s 4 pot had become slightly ceased. the interior was scuffy needing a good valet but that was it.
i pad for the car not even trying the normal ebay haggle and the fella gave me 100quid back and said go get it valeted pal
after a great drive home everything feeling nice and tight and responsive stopping at the local motor shop for some plugs oil and a filter the spannners came striaght out a swapped the plugs and it ran sweet as a nut i also threw on some orginal black mirrors off one of my old classics. Ive owned a few in my time but this one pulls like a train and its been moddified propery no silly induction kits manual boost adjustment or owt the like just decatted with 3in exhaust and a JR panel filter even has the orginal scooby recirculaing valve lol
the price after he gave me 100 quid back to valet the car £950 RESULT

Blimey, decent buy there.
Funnily enough a mate of mine bought a cheap bugeye wrx the bloke had advertised as having a missfire. We put off looking as it'd been for sale a while and was cheap so just assumed it'd be fooked. In the end we just went for a look as it was local, turned out to be a low owner, 68k mile fsh (with a fortune spent) and no sign of a missfire. When i questioned him about the missfire he said "not a missfire as such, just feels like it holds back very slightly". My mate bought it and I gave it a full service and it ran great.
