Driving Experience Days
It's driving me mad looking at these, they all sound so good but when you dig deeper it's all airfields with cones! I though I was set on everymanracing.co.uk, but found vids on youtube with the instructors saying "up a gear ... up a gear" and not really letting you go quicker than you could in a Mondeo lol
Has anybody done a Prodrive organised one?

i did an everymanracing one, at loughborough, it was ok. it was an airfield with cones. bit of training in a 205 gti on dirt, hanbrake control in a toyota, a tarmac lap in a group n evo 5 and a passenger ride in a blobeye sti. was a few years ago tho, dont know if they'd be any better now

I did a everymanracing one in a F430 and a Gallardo. Wasn't that impressed to be honest, didn't get very much time in the cars at all and the instructor was giving commands the whole time.
I then did a rally one in an old WRX ( forget the company ), this was alot better. Instructor really wanted you to push the car as far as possible. Was near Nottingham somewhere, was a couple of years ago.

I did 155mph in a Porsche 996 turbo when I did one at Bruntingthorpe last year. The instructor was encouraging me to go as fast as possible all the way.
Maybe they assess how good a driver you are, you know.

Sorry I can't remember as Ive done a few recently. I did one at Prestwold hall which I think was Everyman, in a Porsche C2 which I thought was a bit guttless and could only do about 105 on the straight whereas the Nissan GTR was doing about 120. I think Bruntingthorpe is a better track.
I did a single seater one at Silverstone Stowe circuit, that was fast and you were allowed to overtake. If I remember correctly, 0-60 3secs and top speed 140mph.
Think I'm going to try drifting next time or rallying.

I did an Everyman day at Prestwold Hall in an Aston Martin DB9 and the Nissan GTR
Cannot recommend it enough but I felt the instructor in the Aston was keeping an eye on the speedo whereas the instructor in the GTR was telling me to floor it, brake later and corner harder - an awesome experience in a blinding motor

I do now, however, wish I had. I bought the photo's which were great. I had a little chat to some instructors whilst waiting for my turns and they were all of the opinion that the best car in terms of value for money and performance was the GTR and this was against a fleet of Lambo's, Aston's & Ferrari's lol
The GTR I drove was white and it was the only one there at the time
my best mate just had to look on in envy lol

It was a GT3 that was Matt Black, it sounded awesome. GTR certainly looked the best car to me.

Would second that i thought it was brilliant but it's more of a driver training day and is spent as you say on a air field with cones but well well worth the money.
If it's an experience day then the London rally school gets some good reviews or the one Lisa mentioned sounds good
