Default NUMBER PLATE

IS IT ILLEGAL TO HAVE NO NUMBER PLATE ON THE FRONT OF YOUR CAR ???

If you have to have a number plate what size is legal ??

I'm afraid so.

Cars must display a plate on both front and rear.

You should have a number plate which diplays 79mm height font and have a min gap of 11mm between the edge of the letter and the edge of the plate.

I use import letters on my front plate 64mm high, and cut the plate down too. Not technically legal, however looks legal enough not to get harrased

Nope, Uk spec

Imports are only allowed to use the smaller letters if the apeture doesn't allow the use of full size digits.

Doesnt really matter, if the car was imported before 1999 then you can have the different numberplate, after and its got to be the standard UK size.

True but if its a UK car it can't use import size plates.
