yes see how there is 3 vacuum pipes going it to it one on top one on bottom and one on the left makes it a 3 port a 2 port dont have the top pipe like this

classics tend to have 3 ports, bugeyes 2 ports, blobeyes have 2 ports but have a stronger actuator. Adding a 3 port to a bugeye is beneficial not so for blobs

The 3 port was on the early classics (v1/v2), your type r would of had a 2 port from factory.

As above, I've got V2 Sti and it is fitted with 3 port.

Definetley a 3 port solenoid ,later ones had the middle port pointing to the right opposed to the left.

Actually v4 sti,s had 3porta from factory. Uk and wrx v4 had 2port.
