Default Potential New Owner Advice Please

Hey guys, currently driving an 02 BMW 320td, but been recently fancying a change, so i have been looking at an 02 bugeye 2.0 sport, just wondering what they are like to live with and of any common problems to look out for when viewing one of these. Just curious also what bhp the non turbos are? Also can they be modified too like the wrx models just basics exhaust/panel filter is what i would be doing.

I've had a drive of a non turbo bugeye and it was a really nice motor alot harsher ride than my bmw but feels like its more in control and hugs the road nicely.

So the jist is to say hello and to get some advice on living with a subaru and any common problems/things to look for? (It would help too if people didnt reccommend getting a wrx, it's not an option for me for insurance purposes)

Thanks in advance, Cal

Hi and welcome to the forum I have not had any experience with your particular model of impreza however there will be a few members who have and no doubt they will answer your questions in the morning.

Welcome to scoobynet!

Not sure why you'd want to go from a 320td to a N/A bugeye?

You won't get the decent fuel consumption you now get, nor the torque, and you won't get the performance of a turbocharged car.

All you are left with is a slowish car with awd

Having owned wrx's sti's and currently a Sport bugeye its a good comprimise, its great on fuel its cheaper to insure, and it still does what it says on the tin.

I get a good 35mpg out of mine. more on a run, which to be fair for an awd petrol car is really good!

Im selling mine now to get something a bit bigger, if it wasnt for the fact we have another baby on the way there is no way id be selling it, as im sure anyone who knows me will confirm this one is the longest ive kept any car! and ive had a few

op ive sent you a pm about my car

Yeah, i can understand what your saying, however a sport is cheaper for me to insure than my beemer, secondly my bm is a compact and i'm getting pissed off with having to let people in the back as its a 2 door, thirdly i would prefer an awd car for when the weather gets bad round my way cause the beemer is horrible in snow/heavy rain

Thanks for the input guys
