Default Hi folks

Hi folks, just registered.
I'm planning buying a wrx in the next few days.
I've narrowed the search down to 2 cars.
One is a 06 plate WRX type uk and the other is an 07 WRX SL.
Basically i was wonering what the difference is between the two cars other than sun roof and leather? The SL doesn't have a boot spoiler, is that normal? Never seen a WRX withought one?
Sorry if these are silly questions.

Thanks
Gordy

The SL should have a boot spoiler, must have been de spoilered.....thats getting more popolar....other than the S & L the cars are the same...SL cost more new of course

Post some links and we can have a look!

That's the two cars i've been looking at. They are both standard afaik, would find it strange that somone would take the spoiler off it. Is it possible that the 1st owner could have requested that no spoiler to be fitted? Wasn't sure if there was a difference between the two as the SL isn't badged as a type UK, i've seen other SLs with a type uk badge

SL = Sunroof and Leather, all the rest should be as per the standard WRX.

Apparently the HID headlights are SL pack only...correct me if I'm wrong...and heated seats or are they standard on a WRX these days?

The last of the Hawkeye WRX where offered without spoilers or as a (no?) cost option.

£1000 more for Sunroof, leather and 10k less. Not bad, it will go toward the big tax.

Think i probably will go for the SL and put a spoiler on it. The SL is a little cleaner than the other with fewer stone chips ect.

Can I just ask why you are after a WRX specifically?

Just you could have an 05STI for that money and it is more of car. More power, bigger brakes, 6 speed etc.

Nothing wrong with the ones you are looking at just giving you an alternative.

Both look nice, for me the SL has been de spoilered, as i said that is not as un common as you might think. If it were me i would wait for something else if your not sure, 3 months ago i looked at dozens of Hawkeyes, and have gotten one, but i really went to lengths to get the right one, if your happy with what you see then good luck.

These 2 are nice, but for example sports interior is an option neither of these has (of course the SL wont have it), for me it would be a must (seats look same as STI seats but are in grey and black, ratherthan blue)...SL looks a better choice, Dont get me wrong they are nice mate, but it is SUCH a buyers market right now, look to absolutley break the dealers arm off. Good luck.

I got an STI in the end, good luck with the search, try and be patient.

Hey folks, well i ended up buying the SL. Bought it the day after my first post.
Quite happy with it, it's clean enough. I've bought a hi level spoiler for it, will be on the car in the next week or so, unfortunately i'm back at work in west Africa so won’t see it until i get home
I've binned the standard head unit and fitted a sony touch screen of some sort
Also fitted a dump valve, yes i know it's a marmite one but i like the sound of it and the car seems to run fine with it.

It's not been an easy ownership tho, first off my insurance would not insure me on it so ended up having to pay £500 to cancel it grr. Next up was someone dented the back door, nothing big think someone opened there door onto mine so was £90 for dent devels to sort it. The day after i got a chip in the windscreen. And to top it all off i got done for speeding in it last Saturday
Unlucky car???

Other than that happy enough with the car.
Few mods happening next time home; VF35 ball bearing turbo, 3" exhaust, 550 cc injectors, fuel pump, set of sti brembos or maybe see if i can get my Audi RS6 8 pots modified to fit and maybe some suspension pars.
