PPP

PPP
Hi guys,
I'm sure this will have been discussed previously but cant't seem to locate the right thread so apologises.
Basically - I'm off to test drive an 08 plate STI Hatchback and for standard one I can manage the costs of the insurance quoted online.
However, does anyone know if PPP installed affects the insurance costs as Subaru garage has just advised me it has PPP (I'm sure it must) and if so a rough indication eg - I'm quoted £850 all inclusive therefore will it rise to mega high amount, or poss just an extra £100 or so?????
Appreciate any good replies from someone in the know.
Cheers.

I think at the time i was with Liverpool Victoria, who were completly mod friendly providing the CC of the engine wasn't increased. I pay a small amount extra for the mods on my Type R on an Admiral multicar policy

Great to hear guys - might be able to get the car then as the quote for non-PPP is £850 and I was prepared to go to £1k max..........so looks as if it may be realistic although appreciate insurance companies all differ.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Ive given up second guessing insurance companies. As some know from the insurance forum I paid around £40 extra for upgraded alloys, brakes, exhaust and rear valance. However if I wanted to add in a sticker it came to over £500 extra! Get a quote before you buy. You could try Endsleigh, they seem to be fairly mod friendly and know about Imprezas, theres even a drop down menu for use on line that gives PPP as an option to declare.

The main issue is if you are going to mod it. You can insure very easily a standard sti through all internet companies and get quite a competitive quote. If it is modded in any way such as PPP you are better off talking to someone like Keith Michaels. A few years ago I had a 57 Sti with PPP without the mod it was around £300 with Direct Line however with the mod they didn't want to know and so KM came in around £400-£450.
