if my calculations are correct it was 31.6 seconds quicker over the lap.
Left 17 secs behind sti and finished 14.6ish seconds faster than sti.

One wonders, however, how much faster the STi would have been with someone calling the bends...

I think the sti was being driven by a jap guy who knows the track well, they hold touge on it.

Who's that old fart driving the WRC car... Oh yeah, it's my mate Toshi

I've actually been on the Gunsai Touge Circuit, had the honour to have Mr Toshi Arai sit beside me (and I nearly understeered off the track after a whole day of great runs) and then Toshi took me for a spin in his RA-R The words "I am not worthy" do not suffice to show how good a driver he is

Also spent the new year with him learning how to drive in the snow It's nice having a mate like him

PS: Touge means "mountain pass" or, a road that goes from one side of a mountain over to the other (so the gunsai touge isn't really a touge, rather a circuit designed to be like a mountain pass.... which they have done very well)

You could clearly see the WRC faster in the hairpin bend section
The STI sort of bogs down a bit exiting, the WRC just bolts off again
