Turbo question/concern
If it's been raining and warming car up from cold, I get steam coming from my turbo (which comes out the bonnet and looks really bad). After a few mins, everything's fine and off I go. Is slightly hesitant as well with rainy conditions from cold.
1st time it happened months ago I crapped myself (being my first scooby). Then I had problems with engine cutting out and CEL on when it rained or had been raining. One day few months ago after I took it through my hand car wash as usual the problem stopped.
Mate of mine pointed out that the turbo looked like it had a cover on it
but not sure.
MY97 facelift - standard turbo with newage intercooler.
Any experiences/advice would be welcomed so I can put my mind to rest!

you will find that the rain is coming through your scoop and its sitting on the part of the turbo where your down pipe is connected, its not an issue its just where the exhaust / turbo is getting hot and burning off the water. You could always make some kind of cover plate./ heatsheild
