turbo timer a good idea , cool and warm up the turbo before and after driving is really important and it saves u havin to sit there waiting for it to cool down in some cases ! also some have really cool features depending on budget . as for boost guage ,i have an apexi in "bar" 52mm looks sweeeeet gd luk oh and my timer is a blitz uras pretty old school i think but does the job

I wouldn't bother with the turbo timer to be honest. Waste of money.

I have one in my car and don't even bother using it. Just drive the car off boost from cold and that also helps warm the transmission up etc. For cool down I simple drive off boost again for the last 1.5/2.0 miles and let the car tick over for about 1min and turn off.

Gauge wise, where you mounting the gauge? I put mine in the air vent on the drivers side. But for that your need a 60mm and will need to make your own little mount for it.
I have purchase a SAGA an works spot on. Been in the car for 2 years and readings are bloody good too.

Rather than waste the money on a turbo timer I'd buy a Oil Temp gauge.

Everyone seems to be fitting these cheap multi coloured stepper gauges at the moment, there's loads of names to them but most are essentially the same. Can't stand them myself but they are cheap if that's what you want. I'd rather get a 2nd hand apexi/hks/blitz/defi gauge. The only new reasonably priced gauge I've seen lately that doesn't look tacky is a Stack gauge. Google stack gauges andyoull find them at merkin motorsport, £43. They available in psi too but I'd go bar if I were you and get used to it, won't take long. The reason I say that is you never hear anything quoted in psi on jap cars.

If you are old skool, you won't need a turbo timer as mentioned. Just another poitnless gadget.
If you want a decent, OE look pillar pod, go to www.nomadracing.co.uk
I would normally direct link the one you need, but don't know what model Scooby you have.

As for the boost gauge, you can't go wrong with a DEFI, its just they are a premium price.

I agree +1 with the above ,I first had turbo cars 20 years ago and have never bothered with a turbo timer, far better to drive the car off boost for the last mile or so & then let it idle for 60 seconds imho. Regarding boost gauges loads out there , defi's are cool but expensive but the apexi or blitz gauges can be bought quite cheaply . I recently sold a 52 mm blitz boost gauge with wiring and bought a 60 mm white faced blitz boost gauge for £11.50 . Incidentally I was able to modify my 52 mm pod so it accepted the bigger gauge and still be mounted by the windscreen & A pillar .
