Hi matey
The VF 30 is a fairly new IHI model that utilizes the exhaust housing of a VF24 and the compressor housing sized between a VF 23 and a VF 22. It comes on boost down low (around the 3000 rpm range),this turbo will make around 330-350BHP maybe little more.Great for daily driving.

Had one on a 2001 WRX with 550's.

Could pull out and go past mapped WRX's with their TD04's while they were on full chat.....even with my slipping clutch

VF28's are good too.

i wa looking at the vf28 but they seem to be a bit old and findng a good one might be a hard job dueto the age of them . i dont mind the laer boost , just after a good kick when it comes in like i had on my old classic . withevery one wantin vf35s the price is high for a good one , which why i was thinking of the vf30 route to be diferent from the rest.

Virtually no difference between the VF30 and 35. They use the same internals.

Just the exhaust housing thats different to give slightly better spool

Similar to a VF34 but as scubbay has said, not a rollerbearing turbo (though the 34 is )
Came on JDM STI's between 2001 and 2002.

+1 for the above, but as the op says if you can find a half decent one then they are a worthwhile option, and can be picked up for about £150 - £200.
