just bought 06 hawkeye wrx, no tracker fitted, with direct line at mo with my bugeye but not covered for theft without tracker, prepared to risk it with bug but not hawk, only payed £285 fully comp but qouted extra £75 to upgrade. anyone know of an insurance company that will cover car for theft without tracker without costing a fortune. thanks

Most companies won't need one, but they'll be quite a lot more than £360

In with admiral they didn't require one on mine although it has one but quote was no different.

Never been required to have one with Bell, A Plan, Admiral. By the time you've paid for the Tracker and your annual subscription, you're better off getting your cover elsewhere.

When looking for my insurance I noticed trackers were required for those under a certain age...dunno why ? Age imo has nothing to do with a car going missing

thanks guys, i,m 50, clean licence and full no claims so would think in a good position to get a reasonable quote so will be comparing meerkats very soon.
