Fair enough but considing all of the special editions and the fact that you are looking at cars that were spawned by Colin's success that's a little odd.

If you're looking at UK cars in general that has to include the P1, UK300 & WR1

Hi that's a fair comment and we appreciate what your saying however there was only 3 models that where endorsed by Colin. Were not dismissing the possibility of other ltd editions joining us.

so based on that were gonna start a reserve list for other ltd editions with the possibility of joining our gathering.

Cheers Andy

To Be honest. The P1 an the RB5 have both had their anniversary days at Prodrive.

It was a excellent day.

I didn't know that, I thought the only edition endorsed by Colin was the McRae edition.

While we have 2 experts on the thread why does the McRae edition come in that colour and why does it have the Recaro interior? I always had a soft spot for the McRae editions but they are rare

The colour is copied from the first Impreza Colin drove in and the Recaro's are to give the interior a sportier look that were retrimmed by Prodrive.

I didn't know Prodrive re-trimmed them, Prodrive have done some stunning Recaro seats but I didn't realise that they also trimmed them When you say that about the colour I guess you are talking about that being the first road car he drove? Did Colin actually have a McRae edition?

It's good to get a bit of history on the McRae editions because I don't actually know much about them.

Thanks

Series McRae
In June 1995, to celebrate their winning of both the manufacturers and drivers World Rally Championship titles, Subaru in the UK released a limited edition run of two hundred cars (numbered 1 to 201 - no number 13!) prepared by Prodrive going by the name of the Series McRae. The main improvements over the standard model are:

Special mica blue paintwork
6.5 x 16 inch eight spoke gold Speedline Safari alloy wheels
Pirelli P Zero 205/50 ZR 16 low profile tyres
Recaro sports front seats with open headrests and Series McRae motifs
All seats (front and back) and door panelling retrimmed in Le Mans/Avus material
Factory fitted electric tilt and slide sunroof
Interior numbered Series McRae plaque
Side and rear Series McRae decals
On the road price was £22,999

Here is the Series McRae info

That adds to the mystery of why the McRae was DBM and not 53c then Has Colin's one been sold on again?

I knew the series McRae was a rare car but I didn't realise so few were built! Do you know how many still survive? Wasn't Colin given one at the time of launch? Also wouldn't it have been 96 they released them if he won the 95 title?

That's criminal scrapping one like that especially when they are clearly worth more than the £2k goverment scrap value

I'm glad they still have it, they still have a few of his vehicles

Its a shame you aren't taking other limited edition's fella as i have a 96 prodrive[number 19] which also has the recaro interior with the same door cards in deep highland green.
