Default SSR Type C

Hi All

I have a set of these in a light gold colour fitted to my classic wagon, 16" dia. I want to get larger brakes fitted (brembos or Ksports open to opinions) so will need larger 17" wheels.

My question is basically what they may be worth without centre caps but with 2 fairly new (1000 miles but still loads of tread) yokohama neova AD08 and 2 AD07s older but still got plenty of tread.

Cheers
Andy

You dont have to fit 8 pot calipers.......K-sport do a 6 pot kit with 308mm rotors which will fit 16" alloys....

I have them and they are faultless in my lightweight classic.

With regards to the alloys they are a quality item and not cheap to buy new...A guy on our forum has a set and they are £400 each iirc.

Thats intersting because I dont really want to get rid of my wheels as I like them alot. Are the 6 pot 304mm kits a significant improvement over the standard 295mm? 4 pot subaru jobbies.

Cheers

Believe me you dont need 8 pot calipers and huge discs to achieve a good braking package. My car albeit a track car is running 400+ and the brakes so far have been spoy on.

A larger heavier disc and heavier caliper is only going to add unsprung weight to the car and you need more force to slow the larger discs and added weight.

The 6 pot K-sport kit uses the same pad pattern as the AP Racing 4 pot kit so you have a wide choice of pads to choose from...i use DS 2500 but might try some EBC Blues if the feedback on them continues to be positive.

Compared to the 330mm disc and 4 pot kit i had before the K-sport brakes, K-sports are miles ahead with braking ability.

Also means i can use 16" track wheels and tyres which are in abundance and cheaper.

Excellent, thanks for your input, my car is mainly a daily drive with occaisional track days and aiming for approx. 340-350 ish bhp, so the 6 pots and 304 kit sounds ideal, especially if I can keep my lurvely wheels. What have you done for the rear brakes?

Thanks
Andy
