Default Radiator hose fitting

Hi all. Found out just before Xmas that I had
a hole in top radiator hose. I am going to replace
bottom hose as well so new hoses all round!
May seem a stupid question but does anyone have
any tips or steps to do this. Don't want to end
up with any airlocks etc. Also can or is this a good
idea to be done on the roadside outside my house as
no drive!

Thanks all

just remove bottom hose of rad and let fluid drain , replace both (all) hoses that you are replacing , just refill though header tank and keep squessing rad pipes to remove air and topping up, start car up and blast heaters

thats what i do and never had any issues

some peeps say you should refill through the hose the goes to the turbo

Mine has been done twice last year, once when the rad went, once when the top hose went two weeks later

I refilled both times via the rearmost hose off the expansion tank, using a funnel and LOTS of patience. Take it slow and DON'T let it gurgle, just pour steady and slow.

Then run the engine, heater on hot, expansion cap OFF until it gets hot, watching for bubbles, mopping up spills and topping up as necessary. Once it's hot, replace cap, drive round block and leave to cool. Once it's cool, remove expansion and header tank caps and top up as necessary.
