Default Insurance..

I am a 23 year old student and have a Peugeot 107. Been driving it for a year and have 1 years NCD. Have been with LV but their renewal quote is £400 more than what it was last year. My girlfriend was on the policy as a named driver which brought it down slightly but I can't get anything near the price I got last year. Why is this? I don't have any points on my license or made any claims. Can anyone help? Best I have found is £1300 from Admiral but it is up-front payment and I would rather pay monthly.

Cheers...

Peugeot 107... can't really get much more of a completely opposite car to an Impreza! Anyway, insurance has generally, gone up for everyone this year, regardless of which company you're with. Just the way it is unfortunately.

Insurance company's are blaming high prices on young driver accidents despite Lloyds making over 1 billion in profit's last year. Insurance company's need to be regulated. Every year they blame something else and post new record profits.

Wrong on so many points, but can't be bothered to go into it.
(and yes, they are regulated, search 'FSA')

BS. A few years ago trading standard raided Norwich union because of their price hikes then shortly after posting a record £777 million pre tax profit. The reason nothing came of this was because Norwich union had moved their operation to India. FSA, don't make me laugh, there so inept there about to be disbanded !
