classic fibreglass bonnet anyone have one good /bad points
Really finding it hard to find in good condition an alloy facelift classic bonnet.
So duncan from dynamix recommended a fibreglass one(never thought of it really).
My question is has anyone got/had one fitted to there car and do they spray up well and difference in weight to the alloy/steel bonnet.

Hi there carbon bonnet is expensive at moment(for classic i've seen for around 550£ or cheaper form US,but will be same price like here after shipping,VAT etc.)

Carbon bonnet are not still lighter than alloy/fibre glass(some carbon bonnet are alot heavier than alloy bonnets)

Thanks for the link jura11 but carbon's not my thing ,plus a bit to expensive if i can get hold of an alloy one then all well and good if not fibreglass it will be.
was just keen to see if anyone had one fitted and difference in weight to alloy as they are like rocking horse to get hold of a good one.

mate just hold out for a alloy one, i went for a carbon for the same reason as you and the fit aint all that, its ALOT heavier and im paranoid about parking PLUS you need bonnet pins aswell as they can flip open when the striker is screwed on
oh and i also have a ****ing UGLEY bonnet scoop too

I started my project 4 years ago I have an alloy bonnet on at the minute but it's creased down the middle and yes have finally found one just need doors and wings now !! Haha
