i've got a t reg rb5 totally standard no mods what so ever still in original spec, 1 owner from new, 83k miles with fsh from the dealership in larkfield kent it was purchased from on 18-05-1999 but it has a knocking bottom end. how much is it worth? the body is mint with no rust or dents.

Replace the engine bud, couple of k for a rebuild if not break the car and recuperate some money in parts

Sorry to hear it's knocking. I almost bought one of these in a similar condition sans the knocking for £5.5k I think if you could get it repaired that's what you'd be looking at.

API are near you, a rebuild costs on average 2.5k, just depends on how much damage has been done to the engine, and selling with a knocking bottom end will mean the car will go for like 1-2k.
