Default Newage Sti vs e46 M3

A mate of mine just got another E46 M3, and I'm wondering much my sti will compare perfomance wise?

Which is going to come out on top...

0-100
0-140
30-100
30-140
on track ie brands?

My car is modded as in my sig, i'm hoping it will be quite close to make for an intersting few track sessions, or am I going to be left for dust, and need some more power to keep up?

I was also looking mate!! The M3 was only 330bhp and something like 255lb-ft. A mapped 04 should have it.

0-100 probably scoob, depending on driver and sympathy shown off the line.

Rest, M3, especially if its has an SMG box.

0-100 Impreza shades it
0-140 M3
30-140 M3
Track - very dependent on driver. Sounds like M3 in this case

iirc the m3's booked 0-100 time is 12.1 ish secs, whereas the sti is around 13.4s, if launched correctly the m3 will be quicker standard vs standard,

My classic eats my friends E46 M3 to 140mph. Im running 346bhp and 301 lb/ft. But then a classic is quite a bit lighter than a newage i think.
Make sure you race him in this horrible weather, by the time he's got traction you'll be long gone, lol.........

Don't think signatures are shown on here when peeps are logged in ... strange!

M3s can't really be tuned so a tuned STi must be in with a shout as the M3 is as heavy as the Sun!

i had a e46 smg M3 and it is rapidwhen your init it sometimes doesn`t feel as quick as scoob (car before it was 05 sti decat fuel pump ect bout 330 horse) but it is when you see the speeds your actually hitting. my M3 had KandN typhoon kit remaped twin 100cell sports cats and ac rear box. was so quick and like bike acceleration in 3rd onwards. just keeps on going.

Similar experience to me. Doesn't 'seem' that fast, but when you look at the speedo OMFG . Launch control is fun too

Haha, love it all these "modified" scoobs can beat an E46 M3, well lets put this into perspective, my unmodified (first) Spec C would outpace E46 M3's quite happily, no remap (100 ron JDM fuel map), just an optional STI accessory (panel filter) and that was it.
The first time I came across an e46 though was in my PPP'd MY00, it was an SMG, well it was embarrasing to say the least, caught me between 2 gears (3/4 i think), couldnt go down a gear as id be at 6k and couldnt go up a gear as id be at 3k ish, either way the car wouldnt have had a chance.
A standard 2ltr UK 265ps car would be left standing, a PPP'd one would fair better but not win, a JDM newage would be successful imo, a uk turbo/wrx would be laughted at as they are not in the same class.

A friend of a friend has a manual E46 M3 with a super charger kit. I haven't checked but think there is footage of it on YouTube. The kit was imported from the states. Cost him 12K all done excluding the car. That included fitting and mapping and all the other nessary bits. Believe the car is running over 500 now. The guy lives in Peterborough so anybody local may well of seen it. It's a black hard top.

So yes, M3's can be tuned. Lol.

Can't cmpare spec c to normal m3 i think ...

m3 are rarely over 320bhp a lot of them are running a lot less than what the book says, its cold weather he wont be going that fasts in to bends you got four wheel drive and if your car is remaped you should easily hammer him.

well my 575bhp supercharged e46 munches 346bhp classics to 140...

lol.

On track its totally driver dependant. r888s will be significant tho. Is he running full slicks? I know which one will be most fun on track

...put it this way...if someone knocked on your door and had a nice clean m3 csl parked up and said they wanted to swap it for your scooby wot would you do. Even if I had a spec c I think I would be very tempted to swap.
