Exclamation

Just flicking through my factory alarm manual yesterday, and there is a feature which may help in the 'burglars break into your house and ask for the keys' scenario. Go read it! I haven't mentioned the details for obvious reasons. It may not be practical for a lot of us, but it will stop some cars being nicked.

I use that feature whenever I'm parking up for an extended time. Works a treat.

So you give them the keys, they still can't disarm the immobilser, they come back with the gun/club/knife and you do what?
I've considered this but figured anyone serious enough to relieve me of the keys is too serious to play hero with.

It's annoying that Super-Lock means you have to set the alarm off when getting in though. I leave the house at 4am most mornings, and I doubt my neighbours will be impressed.

Life's too short to worry about 'jacking. Give them the keys, hope they kill themselves. This is one of the reasons I have insurance.

Slippyr4:

I wonder if it would be possible to place a relay(not sure if that is what you would use) in between the siren and the control unit to delay the siren going off. This way you would have a little extra time.

But surely if they are mad enough to break into your house then it is less hassle to give em the keys and phone the law. If they cant start the car they are gonna be mightily pissed and may come back for more than just the keys. Chicken maybe, but its only a car.

Absolutely Tiggs

Just make it easy for the crims boys and girls.

Then instead of fighting me and the missus to get the keys from under the pillow they may decide to visit someone courteous enough to leave 'em on the hall table.

Toad used to (may still do) the smoke screen where you car fills with smoke if broken into, I replaced myn in the cossie about 3 years ago with CSgas and some scumbag tried to nick the car, A few injuries later the Police picked him up from off the street and the copper was impressed by the alarm, I aint had any bother after that.
