Fuel wanna be sure
Hi All
Have recently bought a 2004 plate STi, the car was remapped by Andy Forest so has the switchable map via the demister button, I have always run the car on V Power... what other fuels and octane rating can I use ?
Thx

you can use methanol with v power but the car has to be mapped for it and race fuel, but very expensive and again car has to be mapped for it.
nothing better than v power for day to day fuel

Again only from reading too many threads on here, most supermarket fuels are poor quality. The 'super' bit means that they just add a higher octane. Tesco Momentum is supposedly better than most other supermarket fuels and comparable to V power, just dont ask me how or why.

You dont have a switchable map for fuel, all you have is a switchable boost level (high + low boost.). You should really stick with the fuel that its mapped for. If you have to use a lesser fuel than v-power,(all other fuels) you should take your time and not thrash it.

As i would have put it as well lol, tesco is on its day as good a vpower but it does get let down by quality variation. sometimes its better than others but its always good

Surely the best thing to do would be to give Andy a quick ring or drop him an email with the details of the car and he'll be able to tell you exactly what fuel you can safely use
