Any one ordered an STI v7, or know how much they are ?

Has anyone had any quotes for an STI V7 (Japanese Import) ?
I have been on several web sites of import agents, but none of them mention the new car, although I am sure it is available in Japan.
The Japanese Subaru site shows some pictures, including the optional lights...
and the seats...
here are some more pictures...

There's something interesting about the front of this car... and not what you may think.
In Europe, a vehicle fitted with HID lights, as the STi is, must also have self levelling units for the lights and headlamp washers. The Sti has neither.
Now once the car is registered in the UK, you can fit HID's without these "extras". And anyway, MOT stations have no facility to check their operation.
Just curious as to what people do at SVA. As SVA is meant to be almost as strict as Type Approval now (are the new regs in force yet?) have people had to fit WRX lights to get the cars in?

Got one sitting outside right now...
26k is a pretty good price, I guess it's the base model - you can pay more for HID lamps, front LSD and a few other bits.
They don't cost that much less here in Tokyo by the time you add shipping & taxes.
I guess there must be a good market in renting halogen lamps for the SVA.

With regards to what Pete said about the lights, the new Evo VII has a factory option for HID lights. Unfortunately, the bunch that have arrived into the UK are failing SVA tests because of these lights. They are an expensive upgrade (£700 factory fit, £2000 dealer fit!) so there will be a lot of disapointed people when deliveries are made.
Apparently, they are not conforming to UK standards and would fail an MOT. I wonder if this is a major blunder by the Jap manufacturers?

With regards to the STi7, I had a chat to Iain (Litchfield Imports) about this months ago. But I cannot remember what the outcome was.
That was useful wasn't it
(Litcho, jump in here anytime )
Cheers

Yes and No.
Ordered a UK car for whenever and dont know how much it will be.
Not much help really.
I'll get my coat.
Pete Croney, can those lights go on my WRX? I might be imagining this but are you developing HID lights for the WRX?

Japan spec STis have a 4 position height adjuster as standard. It isn't rocket science to make these adjust automatically. Might be tricky to make it economical, but I would pay a fair bit if it would allow HID lamps in the UK.
Fitting them to a halogen lamped car could be a significant change to the wiring loom - 700 quid factory fit and 2 grand dealer fit certainly suggests that.
To be honest I'm a bit miffed that it isn't auto adjusting as standard. It's got a titanium strut brace & 17inch bembos and you can't squeeze in a auto adjuster on the head lamp?
I understand why this is a legal requirement in the UK, but why are headlamp washers?

I don't know why washers are a requirement.
Just imagine how much those pop up washers on the new Audi (as shown off in their ad!!) cost
I suppose a dirty lens will distort the light output which could, again, lead to oncoming drivers being dazzled.
Mitsibushi have an expensive problem then Blow Dog

The light issue on the STI 7 is really straight forward to fix and only costs us about £125-150. I expect it will be the same on our EVO7's, should know soon when our first ones arrive
( Not excited really )
Cheers Iain

Is this 150 quid to fit halogens?
150 quid for a auto leveller & washer kit?
Or 150 quid to bribe the tester at SVA time?
;-)
