Your Favourite Driving Roads
Ok guys. Decided to do something a little different for my 30th birthday in April. Going to drive up to Inverness in Scotland on the Motorways then make my way back down the A&B roads back to south Wales.
What roads would you reccomend i take in?
All suggestions welcome. I can start to plan my route home then
Ideally i would like road numbers and from and to points

Ill give you a belter of a journey, its got a bit of a cut over, but its worth it..
From Inverness take A82 towards Fort William, go down the side of Loch ness(fast sweepy corners amazing view of Loch).
Then from Fort Willaim stay on A82 Head Through Glencoe (Bow to the power of Scottish Scenery here just jaw dropping, good twisting roads here and climbs). Take A85 To Killin keep going through to Aberfeldy then cut across to Pitlochry. From here go through Glenshee. Top Biking road big rolling hills all around.
Get to Braemar at the top then head through Royal Aberdeenshire towards Aboyne(home for me), fast roads amazing views here, fly past Lochnagar mountain see the Queen at Balmoral. Then Just past Aboyne take the B974 to Fettercairn another fav for bikers you go through woodland open hills and very tight bending roads. Climb Cairn o mount for a superb view over the East coast. Down the hill toward Fettercairn and out onto the boring A90.
From here id take someone else's route onwards. Just my 2 cents. But these are my most fun roads i have been on in the scoob with great views. Scotland has many enjoy!

Applecross Pass. Sal told me about this place... errr... it's incredible.
Okay, I'll show the damn photo again
You have got to try this... go from the Southern entrance so you go UP this road.

I travel many many miles all over Scotland with work. My favourite, especially as you want to go to Inverness, is to head west from Inverness on the A835 towards Ullapool. Go on through Ullapool still on the A835 to th A837, then A894 towards Scourie. Honestly, it doesn't get any better. Built for Scoobies, quiet , Views are amazing. Click on this;

I guarantee you won't regret it.

Calvin, don't forget about the roads back down through North and Mid Wales as well.
I keep on hearing Jeremy Clarkson mentioning the Buttertubs Pass in Yorkshire as well, looks like a cracking road as well.

If you are in the Fort William area the following are excellent roads
A86 from Spean Bridge towards Kingussie, stop of at Lagaan dam which I always find impressive.
A630 from Fort William out to Mallaig is a nice road.
A82 out of Fort William heading south take the turning for Kinlochleven on the B863, another fantastic road that loops around the Loch.
