Question

Has any of the Cumbrian lads had their cars chipped by the bloke that goes to **** *******. Apparantly he used to work for Prodrive and so uses their chip settings, also it keeps the Subaru warranty according to the guy behind the desk.

Let me state that whatever 'the man' says, this is not the case. The Performance Package uses a different ECU that is not modifyable and it is not possible to use these 'settings' in another ECU.

How come it`s not possible to use these settings in another ECU? Surely the parameters can be copied or at least worked out & wrote in another chip?.How much of a difference is a Prodrive ECU to any others out there? How many tuners buy a sample of their competitors wares & check them out to either copy them or modify their own, I know if I was in that business I would! Let your competitors do all the development & then copy it, just like you did at school!
Why is Prodrive the best? is it the name? the products? the amount of money you spend on any of their mods, cos like some people say, they are expensive.
Has any body heard the old saying "Pile `em high, sell `em cheap" or will that ruin the exclusivity of the Prodrive bits.
An example- Sell 1 PPP for £2k = 1 person happy
Sell 2 PPP for £1k each = 2 people happy for the same profit?
This is`nt a dig at anyone it`s just that I like value for money, the less money, the better value

Big Lee, depends on costs mate, your equation only works if the modifications cost nothing.

You might well find that say cost = 1600
sold at 2000

say 200 each for dealer and Prodrive

you then have to ask , would they sell twice as many at £1800 to keep the same level of profit? Personally doubt that dropping the price 10% would double sales.

Of course I could be wrong and Prodrive might have a magic ECU producing machine, dropping free ECU'd in their laps... but i doubt it

If you want to keep this offer open, probably best not to mention the dealers name on list. IM and Prodrive will probably get p1ssy.
