Default MOT

Had my MOT done yesterday, zeroed the clock on arrival, and checked the mileage. When I picked it up it had done 13 miles, but the odometer reading said 3.
I wonder if they took it out for a ragging?
He also commented on a bit of break judder, but you can only feel this when slowing quite briskly from motorway speeds.
When he mentioned it i said "yes from high speeds if you slam your anchors on", and he paused, and didn't say anything about it after this.
He was quite old but noticed a couple of youngsters in the garage that walked out when I walked in, and said I've come to pick the Subaru up.
Not happy really!

They would have to take the car out for the brake test. The garage equipment is only for 2WD.
Why not stay there during the test?

They dont have to take it far or very fast mine was driven up and down the yard of the garage at no more than 10 mph and he still got an accurate reading, (i knew the brakes needed changing and thats what he said ). The fact that i worked damned hard to buy my car means i wont let it out of my sight so i waited about for the test to be done.

I had worked all night, and had to go to sleep. I did last year, and they only took it up the road and back down.

about 14years ago i was contracting down in worthing (shoreham power station) i met a guy from up north working on the same job who had a red import sti with white wheels ,looked amazing, the start of my love for impreza's.
Anyway to cut a long story short he needed a few bits doing to it (oil change, brakes etc..) so as he was away from home took it too a kwickfit in worthing (bad mistake) .

They changed the oil and filter, did some work on the brakes (not sure exactly what cant quite remember) and took it out for a final test run before phoning tony up to come pick his car up, but he didnt get the call till later on in the day (longer than expected).

But when he did get the call it was disaster they had taken it out and the engine siezed, now i'm not sur if they had anything to do with it or was just a coinsidence, but kwickfit took total responsibility and sorted the engins costs at there expense.

There is only 1 guy i trust with my car and thats john at RASP .

These things do happen in our absence it's who you can trust and likewise enthusiasts the better.

as others have said it only needs a short road to test the brakes with a tapley meter, i certainly would have said something.

Watched a guy drop his Evo off at the tyre garage opposite where I work, within 5 minutes there was a queue of fitters waiting to give it a road test round the block
