Default Help needed please - Moving!

This is an urgent plea for help to all those in the know. The story is this:

Myself, Missus, 2 Kids and the big dog are moving house next Tuesday (30th). We are moving from Larkhill near Salisbury, to Inverness.

And everything is sorted for moving apart from one thing. The Scoob. As it is our only car, and we all cant fit in it, it will be needed to move seperately, as going up and back twice will be a pain in the hoop. I have had a look at car transport costs, and it seems a little bit out of my price range. Im looking at forking out no more than £300, or less if I can.

Can someone please help me out, or give me an idea of someone who could help. The distance is a smidgen under 560 miles and dates are fixed.

Many thanks everyone.

How are you getting up there then if you're not going in your car?

One way car hire?

Can't the Mrs drive the Scoob?
Or get a mate to do it and pay his train fare back?

Hire a van local from address now, after you have finished take van back drive scoob to new house.
Drop wife kids and the dog off on last trip, drive scoob home.

Was thinking about, but, for the cost of the hire and fuel for three trips, its doing my head in. Too many numbers.

Get a bigger van, one trip. I mean how many trips in an mpv, 12-13-more plus can't fit all house stuff in one.

Should have said, removals and hotels etc all sorted and included in move (Army posting). Just the car to sort out.

Was thinking last night, put mrs and 1 kid on back seat, with dog in boot, and, part of rear seat folded down, and other kid in front.

Only problem: Is it legal?

Second option, Put mrs and kids in back seat, put passenger seat in boot, and dog in front well.

Same as above, is it legal?

Its all trying to cut costs.

Thanks for all the help so far!

I'd say as long as any person in the car is seated and strapped in it shouldn't be a problem how it's arranged, i'd be more worried about what the dogs gonna do to my car during a 560 mile drive. My dog throws her ring up after 10 mile

Feel a touch stupid, i didnt know where Inverness was..lol.....

Thats not a short journy, and no wonder you only want to do it once.
If your Mrs. cant drive the scooby up, have you looked in to a possible trailering the scooby. Thats is if your ratal van has a tow hitch....

Looked into almost every possible solution. We think the best way is to squeeze us all in and go for it!

The dog is quite large, so possibly puting the seat in the boot, and mrs and 2 kids on back seat. We'll see how the trial run goes friday!
