Default INSURANCE PRICES GONE MAD ??!!!

Its the dreaded time of year again but this time round even i have been knocked for 6, I have just used go compare, moneysupermarket,confused.com and compare the market and the cheapest quote i have just got is £1550 by the insurance factory (never heard of em)
I`m a 31 yr old bloke with 2 kids 3 yrs ncd and licence since 2007 and my insurance last yr was just under £900 full comp windscreen cover, break down cover the lot. Only social and dom as I commute on a push iron.
The car is a 52plate wrx wagon with stainless steel exhaust nothing else.

Now I have heard about prices going up but thats nearly double what i paid last yr. Granted I havent been intouch with Gary Moulson yet or A plan but can they really get it much lower than that ?? Has anyone had any experience with these guys and if so did it bring the price down much ?

Cheers

Rich

p.s Im off for a sit down and a cup of tea with 10 sugers to calm my nerves after that !!!

Recession = more bogus claims = higher premiums.

Moley saved me a couple of hundred on renewal this year, but that's all due to risk, age and mods... and a new company chasing customers like me.

Just tried Tesco and it said it couldnt quote with info I have provided. Not looking good at the min. I think I`ll be calling Gary and a plan tmoz to see what they can do for me. Insurance companies do my nut it, Ive never in my life made a claim even when I was in a car accident that wasnt the drivers fault ! Ive paid house hold ins since I was 16 when I moved out and yet get fcked over for ins for a car I work hard for !!! ***** !!!

Sorry bout that but its really pi55ed me off big time !!

Just had my renewal through from Direct Line.

39yrs old, 9 yrs NCD, no accidents / claims one SP30 - 4 years ago. low risk area ( I think)

54 STI with PPP / BC Coilovers / PFF7 Alloys - all declared. Trackstar etc

Premium last year was £846 inc breakdown and protected nc

Premium this year £1276

Tried Gary Moulson, left messages for the 3rd year running - no reply

Tried a-plan, straight through to Chris Clacy, phoned me back within 10 mins wiht a premium of £847 - and i dont need the trackstar which means i could save another £156 per year if I cancel the subscription

Was seriously considering selling the scooby if I couldnt get a sensible premium

A Plan will be called tmoz then lets hope they have the same good news for me coz I`m not really wanting to pay 150 a month plus 300 deposit.

Your right I just expected it to be better than it was I found Adrian flux online last yr and they were by far the cheapest around. Admiral quoted £2669 online quote.

Admiral online will give you the cheapest quote. I guarantee they will be the cheapest online, they can offer a 10 month policy as well, meaning you get one years ncd after the 10 months. I'll hopefully be getting 5 years ncd nexy July after 50 months of carefull driving
