How happy am I ??

Very..

Why ??

I have just ordered my brand new WRX, and got a top price.

I managed to fix an exchange rate for 6 months at 1.5855 Euro's, meaning that my car will cost me £15887.59. This includes the WRX car mat set, Gold alloys, and sports side grills, bucket seats + everything else that UK Spec has. (except alarm)

I dont have a delivery time yet, but am hoping to pick it up in September.

I will need to put road tax on it, and an alarm, but this will only cost me £500 more. I was gonna put more Warantee on it also, but I have deided that it might not be worth it, as they are quite reliable, and probably will not go wrong. Also I want to chip it, which will invalidate the warantee anyway.

Anyway,

The order is with Grey UK, and I will keep you updated on there service.

I calculate that I have saved almost a whopping £6000.00. I get this figure (nealy) when I add in my options to the UK price.

Nice one Olly - it's about this time last yeat that I was doing exactly the same (saved £7000 in the end ).

I too took delivery in Sept - it'll be a long wait I can tell you now

Have you got something to keep you entertained during the summer (my Thunderace did this job beautifully ) in the mean time?

Ta,

Matt.

Congratulations m8.

Just a point on the warranty. I take it you mean not adding the extra two years on top of the one year standard cover.

If so, I would think very carefully. Yes, they are very reliable but I've had several claims - cracked front discs, spot rust to name the major ones. Keeping the scooby in tip top shape is costly enough without these unexpected nasties.

How much is the extra warranty out of interest?

Wink

Cheers Guy's,

I have got a Honda Civic VTI at present. It is quite fun and revs to 9K.

As for the warantee matter, I am a bit of a hobbiest mechanic, so things like cracked disks etc.. I will do myself. Also the price I am paying, you could buy a 3 year old Scooby for that, which would not have warantee.

The price they want is £250 for 1 year, or £400 for two extra years. Also £6K can buy a lot of repairs.

Another thing I have heard, is that the only thing an aftermarket warantee is good for, is wiping youre @rse with !!

I might consider just an extra year. I have got 6 months to decide after all.
