Default 2011 Emissions and why ?

Happy Friday guys, ive now blown the 1000 miles barrier on my saloon so lets see if the engine stays intact for the next 10k :/

Ok Question then

On the advert the 2011 models have
<LI class=current jQuery1289553270116="12">CO2 EMISSIONS (EU V STANDARD): 243 g/km
I dont think was part of the 2008 > although the emissions seem the same.

Anyway, after talking with Andrew and Phil at IM i was told that the 2011 has some differances under the hood from the earlier model, obviously nothing major like Pistons etc, but i couldnt find out what, I presume its to adered to the EU emission regs.

So i did some reserach and found Insideline in the USA posted some ideas that on testing the 2011 the 0-60 was between 4.8 and 5.5 , 5.5 being 0.3 slower than the stated 5.2 book speed.

They couldnt work out what a newer model same engine and only i think 57LBs lighter could be diff in both 0-60 and 1/4 mile.

So this makes me think do you think a new map again has been applied for EU regs ? and maybe another possible safe gaurd to the phantom engine thing.

Anybody any ideas , Also whats that EV line mean ?

ALSO why does Subaru have to stick with the emissions law, yet EVOS dont ?

I see the evo has over 300 CO2 or do emissions come in many formats not just Co2

cheers chaps

Time for some Black Ops and dont forget Need for speeds out next Friday, all the PS3 boys add me with the NFS subject and lets have a blast

the eu emissions is why subaru got stuck with 2.5 litre compared to japan with it's 2.0l,started in usa and then eu got stuck with it
