I've got AA cover that will pay £500 towards repair (parts and labour) for breakdown, home start and onward travel as well. Costs me about £18 a month so not the cheapest but has come in handy before now.

Go through the quidco website and look for AA - I just joined them £28 and you get £21 back through quidco so its £7 for a year....

i pay £7 a month, thats me covered as a driver or passenger in any car,, it is relay so i choose what destination i want the car to go to, no matter how far

then they offer you 10% off anything AA do ie: insurance, national cover & so on.

if you tell them they will bring a low loader or usually a van with the dolly built into the bk of it
they'll get you home which ever way is possible.

I'd never heard of Start Rescue until I found their details at Moneysupermarket. I was somewhat sceptical until I checked their terms and conditions and the small print. Identical to RAC, allbeit more likely they will sub contract more due to their size.
