Are you the one who posted a while back on a thread, cant remeber which one but you mentioned using the car on regular track days & you use E85?

OP i dont know if there is a misunderstanding here but are you talking about the bare block it self or the actual internals on the WRX? You can drop a STi 7 or 8 short motor in however you will have to use the WRX heads & i believe they dont perform well as the AVCS you get on the STi newage. It all depends on what your goals are at the end of the day.

did run e85 but car never went on track, now running meth, bhp is lower ( or more realistic) and the "times" are from the meth map

been running this power 500+ for a year now, 553 was on a dd roller, same spec it made 526 on pauls rollers, after he remapped it, it made 538 all on e85cant remember what it made on meth though it was over 500, dave rowe mapped it to 553 paul mapped it to the other figures, its on a md321v with motec ecu on a 2.0 newage

Thats sick! Were there any advisory's given in regards to standard motor taking that much power by Paul? What sort of power did you run just on pump fuel & what is the spool up saying on the V?

somebody said to me " if its gonna blow it will blow on pauls rollers while being mapped" it had a very hard workout on his rollers on 2 seperate occasions but thankfully it didnt on vpower it was high 400, spool up is laggy but thats what im used to

Loool. To be honest i havent heard of many blowing at all other than failures due to not taking care etc. I wonder what the limit actually is on these engines. I would be well happy with 500

According to a few sources i have come across some turbos that can make 'near' to stock spool up & over 400. Such as the FP turbos used on Evo's. Never the less they do have there weak points according to a few people.

What sort of boost do you make by 3500 rpm?

Some ruthless stuff though

The problem with a WRX newage is the gearboxs tend to only last upto and around the 350bhp mark hence why alot then go for an sti box.

So are we saying that a standard newage STI 2.0 block and standard AVCS heads with the right supporting mods can take upto 500bhp and be reliable at that, and still hack some vigorous ocasional RR's!!! jesus christ. Also the standard 6 speed box is also comfortable at that level too?

What sort of torque are these 500bhp motor pushing?

Rob

PS, I think the OP's UK300 is on borrowed time, I stripped my 5 speed tranny with slightly less bhp, and around 320lbft!!
