BHP Gains
Hi there,
I have a 2005 Subaru Impreza STI which at the moment is running at 337 bhp by the way of a PPP initially and then by new headers and remapping.
I am looking to adding more bhp but do not want to spend ridiculous amount of money and don't want to get involved in engine swaps.
So my question is, for about £3,000 and reliability what power gains could I be realistically looking at?
Thanks

for 3000 youre looking at 400 bhp. get a MD321H, front mount intercooler, 650cc injectors, full exhaust system and a remap, the car would be reliable and very fast, to get the parts in your bugdet you would have to buy some second hand.
you could make some money back by selling the vf35 your car currently has and the sti intercooler and the sti pink injectors.
you could make back around £450

Thanks for the replies. I have to agree with Cholton and was expecting a little more, around 450 bhp, but 400 bhp is a start.
I'm not technically minded at all so some help is required, is a MD321H a type of turbo and don't know what a TMIC is, and would a de-cat Prodrive exhaust be equivalent to a full system.
With the work that Tazz was talking about, how much labour would be required.
Thanks again for all your help

A well sorted 400bhp car with good torque will feel plenty fast enough and a fair bit quicker than 337 does currently. Equally important are brakes and suspension, so dont ignore those.

You may get a bit of change from 3k for 400 bhp. Your sportcat is IIRC good for 400 bhp, but may need other exhaust mods.
Try a search on here, there are lots of cars from 350 - 450 bhp and even some at 500++ bhp. Ifyou want to run much above 400 bhp then you must consider brakes, suspension and clutch...............these can be just as costly again.
