OIL shelf life??

I was wondering if oil had a shelf life as I bought some about a year ago, haven't used it or opened it yet, and am planning on an oil change soon? Should be ok shouldn't it, its Motul 8100 ?

Generally I think it is a re-inspect date 5 years after manufacteur.
