MY94 UK turbo, replaced front discs last year, what generally goes on these, i'm thinking of changing the radiator before that blows the head gasket, any ideas?

I wouldn't bother changing the radiator 'just in case', you'd be ebtter off, just keeping a close eye on the temp gauge, 'if' you do loose the rad, don't let it overheat cos that will blow a gasket, if you started changing thing s'just in case' you might as well change the car 'just in case' afterall, you don't don't take paracetemol before you do out for a drink 'just in case' do you!

Most cars ive had before, ive blown the head gasket and bought a new rad after getting the head done, prevention rather than cure, they wouldnt wait for an engine to fail on a plane before replacing, just wondering, probably wont do it, just seeing what replies i may get.

Ive knocked out 69000 in just over 4 years in my MY98 and only 4 bulbs have been replaced apart from wear and tear on tyres and disks.!!! what a car, still feels really tight.

Many years ago I had an XR3i from 5000 miles to 88000, 70000 to 88000 was hell everything fell off or broke, siezed up or just gave up the ghost. Piece of ****.

I dont think you have to much to worry about, my sister used to work for a dealership and they assured me when i got mine that these things go on and on with very little trouble, they werent wrong, touch wood

My MY95 has got 82K on it - here's what's gone wrong....

1. Rear Bumper & Light cluster - MY FAULT!!!
2. Front discs and pads
3. Rear wheel bearing
4. Rear Anti-Roll bar links (changed them myself)
5. Rocker Cover gasket - seal went
6. Clutch is slipping now - meant to replace it this weekend
7. Flywheel needs replacing at same time as clutch.
8. Backbox (picked up a replacement DTM for £50!!!)

That's it - all minor stuff, apart from the clutch, but this was the ORIGINAL clutch!!!

Next biggy is the 90K service, but I'll be changing for a buy-eye before then.....

Had many happy miles of motoring - will miss the ole dear when she goes..... (and the car)

I've had my MY94 for three years - its done 94,000 and all thats gone are the obvious brakes Power Steering pump seal went, crank position sensor went and I'm just about to have the rocker cover gasket replaced... Not bad really considering...

My MY96 UK just clicked over to 97,000miles..

I have had it since 73,000miles about a year ago.

I have replaced the front pads... and errrrmmmm... thats it..
except the rear box which was my choice.. oh and the alloys.. had two sets of secondhand alloys with treaded tyres off here, cheaper than new tyres.

If you replace the rad, then go to a rad speciallist and get them to replace the middle.. cost is about 100.

I think you would be wasting your money though..

As far as I can make out the clutch is still original (I have most service receipts)... slight judder which gets worse when I use the car for towing.. then goes back to normal.

On the 737-800 I drive for a living the engineers plug a computer into it and it tells them when a part is going to fail in the future ie 50hours. I am sure this technology will be available for cars soon
