limp mode questions
#2
also how much does it slow the car down ?

the car revs up no problems ,but ive been told that it is in limp mode as there are 3 code faults .the light hasnt come on but suspect its either faulty or someones interfered with it to make the light go out before i bought it ,
the car seems sluggish to me but im quite shocked that its been in limp mode and i didnt realise
it was only the fact that the engine check light wasnt lighting up with ignition that made me look into it

i did this morning mate ,checked to see if it was a bulb but discovered no bulb
You cannot "clean" a MAF sensor, suggestions to the contrary are based more on hope than any genuine understanding of how this system works. Don't forget there's a very effective air filter in front of it to make sure it never gets dirty in the first place. If it's degraded badly enough to cause an error, you need to fit a new one - no messing.
It's worth doing as Nick suggests and checking connector contacts for corrosion/moisture - but if you find any, that suggests, at least, that the waterproof seals in the plugs are compromised and in need of replacement. The bottom line is that either of the two errors you have identified (MAF or crank position sensor) will be enough to put the engine into limp mode. If the code reader has identified three separate trouble codes, you clearly need to correct all of them.

sorry forgot to reply .have a few threads on the go ha ha
yeah ive had the clocks out and there isnt actually a bulb for the check engine light ,it must be an led on the otherside of the circuit board ,i can see where it is on the back of the circuit board as its stamped on in writing .
maybe my clocks are just faulty ,but id like to get to the bottom of it

Looks like you need some hands on work to get to the cause of the problem......
the DENSO ECU in your bugeye is an absulute marvel of electronics It runs my bugeye at 400 odd BHP
I see you have posted that you are in the North East.....there's Alyn at AS Performance and Harvey near Darlington.....have you joined the TTS crew (Tyne Tees Scoobies) ?
