Default Power Questions & What Clutch please

Completly standard 2002 STI Type UK engine with a VF37 (I think).

What power figures should I expect after a remap.

Please give me some suggestions to power figurers against adaptions?
ie:
standard - 330/330
de-cat -350/350

Also as the engine is out and I'm changing the clutch, what should I go for? I kind of put a budget of £250 in my mind, but do I need to spend more? I put a Exedy single (£150) in my last car (UK300 WRX) and it slipped running no more than 340bhp (simular torque)

Thanks guys.

vf 34 in it and its 280bhp uk spec, decat, remap will see 330 bhp with similar torque, to get 350/350 you will need a vf35 with quicker spool up, full decat, front mount, induction kit, headers, fuel pump, remap.

going to have to spend about 300+ on a clutch that wont slip

what was done to the uk300 for it to have 340/340 ?

Nah, "normal" AP Racing's organic clutch was under £300 when I last put one in my classic before I sold it 2 years ago.
There IS a high end super version with flywheel for about £800 though...

I've had bad experiances with Exedy organic ( fitted by main dealer ) and Exedy single plate competition clutch with light billet flywheel, both had real bad judder. ( got comp from dealer it was that bad )

Thanks UK300 Scoob, got your PM... price though please.........

As for the UK300, I had done a little having bought it with engine damage (New uprated engine, sti injectors, full decat, walbro, sti tmic, uprated headers, VF30, lightweight FW, , forgot the rest.) , it got the point where i stripped the std 5 speed gearbox so i sold it before i got chance to fit the brand new brembo and ported headers etc.

I never even gave this a thought. I take it there will be no judder with this being a standard clutch, but it will be capable of 400lb easily?!?!?

I so the deal you got from here Eggy (£60 was it?). Where would I get one from and one brand please.

Cheers, Rob

hi rob the clutch i got from here was off the jdm hatchback 2.0, not sure if it is the same as the hawkeye one but the jdm cars do tend to come with more torque so i assume it is better than the uk 2.0 clutches. not tested though (if you want this clutch, drop us a pm as i'll be going big bhp so tbh it wont be used, cost me £67, you can have it for cost price)

the clutch i am running i paid £260 for bought it in parts. and it doesnt judder at all, in fact much softer than my previous standard clutch.

Plate (30100AA920) is £104
Cover (30210AA670) is £115
Release bearing - Exedy one off Ebay £30
Spigot bearing £10 off Ebay

From your friendly dealership

Note. the dealer prices on the part numbers above have gone up a bit as far as i know, might be worth asking a local specilist to order you them in at trade price?

release bearing and spigot bearing i bought from a company called just clutches on ebay i believe

Mainly because paddle clutches are sh1te they are snatchy in slow moving traffic, give you more grief to your transmission because they are snatchy, not as good to use as an organic (especially something like an AP ) and basically you get what you pay for (£5-600 quid is good for a subaru clutch, £300 is for cheap n nasty and circa 1k+ is for super clutch )
