Yes. Due to a poor inital map - re the fueling. People sticking UK lower ron fuel in them but the map wasnt up to the job. The owners were not to know. But they liked to go bang after a while.
You are always best off going for one that had a remap very early on in its life.
Or one that has a rebuild and had a decent map put on it imeadiately afterwards.
Stay clear of car on origonal engines with no sign of a re map.

Seems to be mate. All around the 50k mark. Dont know why they are prone but seems to be common in all P1's. Hard to find one without a rebuild. But if they have'nt had one they probably soon will.
