this may be a stupid question but whats the difference, engine wise, between a impreza STI engine and an impreza Type R engine? is CC??

You need to be way more specific. Most Type R's are STi's. Unless of course you are talking about Hondas in which case, none of them were STi's

There is no difference, what makes you think there was? unless you mean the wrx type r?

yes there are STI and STI type RA, some one told me that Type RA engines comes with electriacal gearbox 6 shifts. dont know if that is true

The sti, sti type r and sti type ra all have the same engine/ecu combo, there is no difference.

sorry guys, some told me the impreza type r (3 door) was a 2.2 twin turbo, which i found not to be true.
i only ask i need a new engine for my impreza STI, n wondered if there is a more powerful engine then wot ive already got.... or maybe i should jus pay someone to rebuild my engine
