AFAIK, yes.

Although Google finds it as anywhere between 50 and 73 litres

Run it right down until the red lights been on for a few miles,then drive back and forth past the nearest shell garage untill it splutters then go and fill it up.Mission accomplished....

Err, yeah mate thats a great way to potentially wreck the engine- run the car till its splutterring out of fuel! suggest you read up what pthe effects of running lean are on the good old subaru pistons.
Oh and IIRC if its an older classic it doesnt have a fuel low warning light!

MY98 is 50 lites iirc. Up to 60 for newage and hatch. JDM can differ again.

No but it WILL run lean for those cycles where only half the required amount is fired in.

... and will this cause det and damage his pistons while driving slowly back and forth past the shell station as he suggested???

Driving at 100% on track with no fuel is a little different but its a bit over the top to say his engine will melt by running out of fuel LOL.

Early WRX's had a 50ltr tank, later cars and UK had a 60ltr tank.
