Subaru Forester STI ready to break loose?

Pretty cr@ppy timing IMO to do an STI version considering that the Forester doesn't get Subarus new engine till it goes mass production next year. I reckon an STI version of that would be something.

Does this really look like STi material?
Previous Forester models had a certain sleekness to carry off the STi moniker, but the latest model doesn't have any sporting pretentions IMHO.
In fact it's such a bland, poor performing, pricey, bloated looker that the lack of them on UK roads suggests that even their die-hard customers have moved on to better things.
In 2008 there was a US XTi concept car that quickly sunk beneath the waves and since then zilch.
