Default engine rebuild

hi people just a quick question, i hav a 1998 v5 type r and basically yesterday the engine died on me! A mechanic has had a quick look already and said something to do with number 4 piston, common problem and in his words f×××××d so what im after is a ruff price on an engine rebuild ? new engine whatever and even where to take it? any feed back would be great, i live in the southeast,thanks very much

Allan Jeffery@ Enginetuner is another option. Rebuild price depends on spec really,forged 2.0 probably around 2k give or take.

Your car is an MY99 version 5 btw, not a 1998 car (it confuses things a little), also you need to know what caused the failure in the first place (maf, induction, fuel, fuel pump, ecu or a combination of the above?)

try cp autos in bristol 0117 9499 664 or 0117 9070 082, spencer or nick
