classic heater problem

Default classic heater problem

firstly i have a 1995 classic import and my heater has bein fine untill yesterday i turned it on nuffin thought thats wierd looked at the fuses to find 1 had blown. replaced that fuse tried the heater again i heard click the fuse blew again. soon as i turn the heater on its blowing the fuse (20amp top row 2nd or 3rd in carnt member now )

any1 have any ideas bein told it could be the heater control unit on the dash where you turn it on ??

did a search but didnt find anything with this fault

hi dan, mine is not great either just always hot so good for winter lol

If you say you changed it and it keeps blowing it, that means there is a short somewhere. Have A look behind the dials and see if any wires are touching and earths are good.

I've just lengthened all the heater unit wires (yes, all 38 of them on all 3 plugs) so I can have the heater controls in my glove box (DONT ASK!)... and when I was rewiring I blew the same fuse a few times.

As said above, it'll be wires touching... shouldnt be too much off a knack on to identify the culprit as the wires will be exposed (no plastic on wires)

correction soon as i turn the ignition on it blows the fuse up ive pulled all the heater unit out so no wires are touching metal any ideas possible relay ?
