Standard UK Bug STi Turbo was the IHI VF35. Are you sure it's a TD05 ?

IIRC the original Jap Bugeye STi had the VF30 and maybe the first UK bugs........ VF35 ended up as the standard Bug Sti UK turbo. Another mental block but again I think the VF35 was thrust bearing and it's stablemate VF34 was the roller bearing.

So if I remove my vf35 from my bugeye sti when upgrading who will use it and why would they go down the route of vf35? I am seeing 330 on mine with a JGM remap, but want 400 now. Would a td05-20g see me to there almost?

VF35 is a popular turbo to replace the TD04 in the WRX (along with supporting mods)...........

bought the turbo, it was a vf35, paid £100 for turbo with h & s 2 piece decat down pipe, turbo is in great condition, result i think. i'm still undecided whether to fit vf35, decat, pink injecters for remap or just leave td04 put decat and remap, will the car drink **** load more juice with the bigger turbo and injecters when driving off boost?

Car won't drink much more juice off boost as all you need from the engine is the same energy, the re-map will make the car more efficient pootling around as the OEM map is quite rich.

On boost will be a very different story.........the car will pull like an animal all the way to the redline

To keep the low down torque best to get an exchange set of ported headers from harvey

I went from TD04 to mapped TD05 with bits................now that's how it should have left the factory

Open source? .......Duncan at Racedynamix springs to mind and there's also fiestaboy. I think Zac at Mocom is also an opensource mapper.
