Default Help regarding Fuel and octane booster please.

After a little help and advice please. I drive an 03 WRX thats had a remap by Duncan @ RaceDynamix roughly pushing out 270bhp and similar torque, and was mapped on Shell VPower. I've had the car for a year and only ever used VPower as it was recommended on here, the car is also my daily driver and I use it to travel between customer sites.

My problem is this, our car policy at work is changing, and we are moving away from claiming back fuel per mile moving to fuel cards, which means all my fuel would be paid for. Unfortunately it does not extend to me using VPower, so as you can imagine I'm in a bit of a bind. I'm not selling the car and buying something regular as I dont have any issue with affording to run it etc, however if I cant put VPower in using my new fuel card, I cant use the car for work. My question would be, if I was to use standard octane fuel, bearing in mind I wont be paying for any of it as all my fuel will be paid for with the new Fuel card system, is there a way of upping the RON level to that of VPower ? perhaps by dumping some octane boost in the tank, and it wouldnt matter really how much this was, just as long as I had some when I needed to fill up.

I should add, that they wont allow me to purchase ANY premium fuels, just regular unleaded.

Thanks for any suggestions

I used Super unleaded and octane booster to run a 100 octane mapped ecu on my classic when I moved to an area with no Shell stations, no problems in over a year!!.

I want a job with a paid fuel card!! lol

It's possible to do this but can you really be arsed?

Get it mapped for the fuel you will be using imo.

oh sure I could have it remapped on 95 Ron, I understand that, but surely I'd be loosing about 20 BHP in the process which kind of defeats the initial reason for getting it remapped in the first place

Just add some octane booster, I use a KS3 knock sensor to watch mine, but even on V-Power + booster my bum-dyno is able to feel the difference...

You could just ask your mapper to check the car next time he's passing.
